THQ’s upcoming extra-terrestrial action title becomes an Xbox 360 exclusive
North American publisher THQ has confirmed that the PS3 version of its upcoming Destroy All Humans: Path of the Furon has been abandoned.
The publisher confirmed to Shacknews that “development issues” were the reason behind the decision, which incidentally means that the title has now become an Xbox 360 exclusive.
It’s not the first time Crypto has turned his back on the PlayStation format, with the PS2 version of this year’s Wii release Destroy All Humans: Big Willy Unleashed also shelved.
Path of the Furon was initially pencilled in for a release earlier this year, and is currently due to hit UK retail on December 5th.

Development issues AKA Financial issues
I reckon the in game advertising deal THQ did with Massive Inc. owned by Microsoft of which THQ shares rose, about 7 percent, while shares of Microsoft 4 percent had an effect.
Overall shares of THQ are down at about down 13.3% last time I checked!
As long as when they say development issues they mean financial issues, unfortunately if the finance is coming from a Microsoft umbrella that doesn’t bode well for a PS3 version any time soon.
I do hope they can get some financing to get it out on PS3 as both Destroy All Humans were good games, with exception of the last outing Big Willy Unleashed in my oppinon.
Re: Development issues AKA Financial issues
I read the original article on this yesterday and they announced that the PS3 version was scrapped only a WEEK before release. I thought games went gold around that time so to announce it was due to technical issues a week before it was due to be released... Who knows, maybe it was.
Re: Re: Development issues AKA Financial issues
Sounds to me like they had some big issues while play testing the PS3 version that couldn't be quickly patched. i can't see any other reason to scrap it so late on, maybe it was crashing PS3's?
Re: Re: Re: Development issues AKA Financial issues
are they going to fix the issues and get it out for ps3 or just totally abort
