Is latest Metal Gear teaser a 360 hint?

Green ‘Next Metal Gear’ teaser site could well be hinting at awaited Xbox 360 port of PS3 hit

Konami has launched an ambiguous teaser site concerning its plans for the highly popular and lucrative Metal Gear Solid series – and many are seeing it as the strongest hint yet that PS3 hit Metal Gear Solid 4 could be on the way to Xbox 360.

At present the new site simply displays a green logo, with a power symbol reminiscent of the power button on the front of Microsoft’s machine, along with the tag line “A Next Metal Gear Is…”.

Talk of a 360 version of MGS4 has been rife ever since the game was first announced, but really picked up pace following the news of Square Enix’s decision to bring Final Fantasy XIII to Microsoft’s machine.

In the months that followed we saw Sony insist that it would be impossible to port the game to 360 owing to the storage limitations of DVD, though Microsoft in turn said a port would be very doable. Konami itself has admitted that it is looking into bringing the game to 360, too.

I've heard Metal Gear Ac!d for the iPod apparently.

People seem to forget the power button is pretty universal across most electronic products. Also, the fact it's "XBox green" is silly, as the XBox 360 doesn't have green lights.... only red :D joking!!!

i think the power button stands for "Standby" which makes more sense to the formula. Also Ben it's "A next Metal Gear is" not "The".

I thought it was a hint to do with angles of rotation.

That the '!' was an upside down 'i' and that the green circle on the other side of the equation represents the rotation of the 'i'.

But that wouldn't be a 360 degree rotation, only a 180.

The turning upside down could also be a hint at the iPod/iPhone accelerometer…

I dunno, It's exciting anyway.

Someone showed me an interesting image about this. I can't find the original site it was on - but I managed to save a copy, so put it on Photobucket.

Basically shows how all those symbols can be related to the Xbox 360.

I have a love/hate relationship with this kind of viral marketing...
On the one hand I love the mystery, and trying to figure out what these F***ing cryptic messages mean.
But on the other hand, it seems like internet culture is always devouring and brainstorming these kinds of mysteries so furiously that we often come up with ideas that leave the actual outcome lacking... Case in point: anybody remember all the hubbub leading up to the cloverfield movie? I was left pretty disappointed with the outcome.

Every comment I've read so far is basically written by people trying to find a link between MGS and 360, but no evidence of people really trying to crack the riddle.

Stop trying to use the 360 for clues!!! Maybe try looking at MGS for clues.
