Article in The Sunday Times suggests open Home beta will be with us by December 17th
The clock is ticking on Sony’s recurrent pledge to release an open beta for its PS3 social network Home by the end of the year – and a report in yesterday’s issue of The Sunday Times suggests that December 17th may be the day.
The piece reads: “To try Home, which is slated for release in the next 10 days, players must download a piece of free software from Sony's PlayStation store onto their own PS3.”
Whether or not the date is true, it’s certainly the case that the Home bandwagon has picked up considerable pace of late. And were Sony planning on slipping the release until 2009, it’s certainly waiting until the very final moment before dropping the bombshell.
Thanks, CVG.

Autumn release
They've been saying for months Home will be released in Autumn. With winter starting on December 21st there isn't long left but and having the beta now myself it certainly looks like it will be ready one everything is fully populated.
The sunday times could well be right with their dates.
Re: Autumn release
I got a beta invite on the 28th of november this year and it says its open beta so I think its highly possible that they will release it by the end of the year
Re: Autumn release
I think that most (and I might be wrong on this) of the online playing PS3 owners now have beta codes for Home, hundreds of thousands have been handed out throuought Europe in the last month.
Wouldn't surprise me of an imminent release... About time too.
It'll be interesting to see where this goes over the next year.
