Burnout Paradise on PC to be free

Criterion to offer demo download of entire game that will be free to play for a limited period

Obviously excited about the arrival of its celebrated racing franchise on PC for the first time, developer Criterion has announced that PC gamers will be able to try out Burnout Paradise: The Ultimate Box in its entirety for free upon its release in February.

A demo, which will be available from Criterion’s and EA’s website, will allow gamers to explore the entire city and access all the in-game events, as well as including the normal online multiplayer modes.

The developer has not specified what restrictions will be placed on the demo.

This is not the first time Criterion has dabbled with bold digital distribution strategies. Earlier this year it announced that it was to make Burnout Paradise available to download directly over Sony’s PlayStation Network – unusual for a title that is also available at retail.
