Konami bringing Guitar Hero to arcades

Surprise partnership formed to bring Activision-Blizzard’s world beating franchise to arcades

Seemingly not satisfied with conquering the world’s living rooms with its music series Guitar Hero, Activision-Blizzard is to bring its franchise to arcades around the world – and the surprise is that Japanese rival Konami is on board with the project, MTV Multiplayer reports.

Guitar Hero Arcade is based on 2007’s Guitar Hero III, and has enjoyed a development timeline roughly in line with GH: World Tour, and features a guitar peripheral described as a ‘hybrid’ of the GH III and GH: WT units.

All those Guitar Freaks cabinets are gonna get dusted down and refited...not a surprise.

I'd suggest that this is a way to further the brand and to avoid legal action - Konami were suing not that long ago weren't they?
