Popular open-world action series accounts for 60 per cent of Take Two’s total sales
The Grand Theft Auto series has generated a whopping $710 million this year for Take Two, largely due to the success of the latest entry, GTA IV.
During a conference call discussing Take Two’s fiscal results, the publisher’s executives confirmed that GTA as a property has accounted for almost half of the company’s revenue for 2008, according to VG247.
The publisher saw revenue of $1,537.5 million for its full financial year. The $710 million taken by GTA games forms approximately 60 per cent of Take Two’s publishing sales.
