Wii video is ‘nightmare for TV execs'

Producers running scared of console’s new content service

Japanese television executives have spoken of their fear over Nintendo’s new video channel for Wii.

One leading TV official in the country said that the Wii was the “centrepiece of the living room”.

And an executive at Fuji Television, Japan's biggest commercial broadcaster, told The Times that the launch of the service would be "the stuff of television producers' nightmares".

MCV detailed the launch of the service – which offers original programmes and could come to Europe as early as this year – this morning.

They have nothing to worry about, the quality of TV (check BBC iPlayer) is so incredibly Poor no one in the right mind would want to look at it..

I use BBC iplayer all the time yeah the quality is not as good but I prefer using it because I either am too busy when the shows on to watch it or forget that the show is on.
When I do have time to watch TV there's usually something there to watch on my computer it's convenient to have and the fact it's free and available from most computers is a bonus.

Mr. Earl, I think your closing line should have read…

'should have gone HD'

Closing lines are very important if you are making a point, especially if your argument is so ill considered.
