Animal rights outfit singles out Xbox 360 RPG in its 6th Annual Proggy Awards
PETA, the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, has named Lionhead’s Xbox 360 RPG Fable II in its 6th Annual Proggy Awards, naming it the year’s “most animal-friendly video game”.
The organisation said of the game: “Fable 2 is a vegetarian's dream come true. Why? In this virtual fight between good and evil, characters powered by tofu are just as powerful as their meat-eating counterparts – and are more fit and attractive to boot.
“Featuring a strong pro-vegetarian theme, eating a plant-based diet helps you rack up ‘purity’ points, whereas eating meat makes your character fat and evil. A fun and innovative game, it's also an effective tool that teaches gamers the real-life benefits of a vegetarian diet.”
Whether PETA chose to ignore, or was simply not aware of, the chicken kicking mini-game toward the end of the title, or indeed the Achievement Points up for grabs for those willing to boot a bit of poultry, is unclear.
The last time we heard from PETA it was following a scathing attack on Majesco and 505 Games’ DS and Wii title Cooking Mama.

CHICK EATING
Lol! They obviously don’t know about the bit where you have to eat 10 baby chicks in a row!
Uneducated people...sad....
Re: CHICK EATING
Lol @1
Very true! I'm sure PETA would love the temple of shadows.
Dear PETA
Regarding your efforts to capture headlines using the subject of video games, please cease embarrasing yourself with your distinct lake of knowledge on the subject. You may think you're being 'cool' by talking about games, but in getting it wrong you are not.
Instead, please put more resources into photo shoots with naked female celebrities, which us guys will fully enjoy but not remotely pay any attention to the 'message' you are trying to put out there.
Thanks
