Guitar Hero publisher boss announces long-rumoured dance music spin-off

Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick has confirmed that DJ Hero, a dance-music themed take on the Guitar Hero formula, is in development and will be out later this year.

The game will come bundled with a record-deck peripheral and will more likely than not be released on a wide range of formats.

Eurogamer quotes Kotick at the ongoing World Economic Forum in Davos as stating: “We have this product called DJ Hero coming out later this year, which is a turntable that you actually can play competitively and spin discs and mix songs.”

The game was seemingly confirmed late last year after trance star DJ Tiesto spoke of his involvement in a fan letter.

Shouldn't it come with 2 turntables ?

This whole peripheral craze is getting a little out of hand.
