PS3 leads the way with 53 per cent of sales as SFIV becomes best selling traditional fighter since Charts began
Not content with merely entering the ELSPA GfK-ChartTrack All Formats Top 40 in first spot, Capcom’s Street Fighter IV has also become the best selling All Formats Number One of the year to date.
It’s sales success also makes it the best selling ‘traditional’ beat ‘em up since the UK Charts debuted in 1997. February has traditionally been a strong month for Capcom, with the month delivering number one titles for the publisher for three years on the trot following the success of Lost Planet in 2007 and Devil May Cry 4 in 2008.
Interestingly, the PS3 won the format battle for the title, claiming 53 per cent of the overall sales, leaving Xbox 360 to claim the remaining 47 per cent.
The game did well to topple former chart-topper Wii Fit, which actually bettered its previously week’s sales by 20 per cent.

Wii fatties vs SF IV
Yay! Topple the Wii fatties!
Have to say it's a superb game. Some say the directional buttons on the PS3 pad are better suited to fighters of this type, so maybe this would influence sales?
Re: Wii fatties vs SF IV
i don't know what all the hype is about with this game. To me it seems no different to the previous 3D streetfighter but with next gen graphics, or is it because im not that good at the game yet i wonder.
Re: Re: PRICE FIX
Is this game No1 because Amazon, Play, Shopto & the supermarkets were selling it cheaper than centresoft. If any new game is cheap enough it will sell !!!
Re: Re: Re: PRICE FIX
Great game. It should just be called Street Fighter 2 next gen though. It is very similar, albeit upgraded in every way and featuring ex moves, supers etc.
My only actual gripe is with the boss character, who really lets the side down by being one of those stupid, unbalanced super-charged characters that Japanese developers regularly enjoy soiling otherwise decent games with.
Re: Re: Re: Re: PRICE FIX
Supermarkets weren't selling cheaper than CentreSoft's trade price - that's *******s.
