Call of Duty enjoys DLC success

One million plus downloads of new map pack for World at War in its first weekend

Activision Blizzard’s powerhouse franchise Call of Duty racked up yet another success at the weekend with the news that the recent downloadable map pack for World At War was downloaded over a million times in its opening weekend.

The number includes all sales of the DLC on both Xbox Live and PSN between March 19th and March 22nd.

“I’m proud that the team at Treyarch delivered an experience that so many people are enjoying,” Treyarch’s studio head Mark Lamia, stated.

“We’re excited that the success of Call of Duty: World at War Map Pack 1 will continue to drive the popularity of the game’s Nazi Zombie mode, competitive multiplayer and chart-breaking success online.”

Activision’s executive VP and general manager of owned properties Maria Stipp added: “The success of Call of Duty: World at War Map Pack 1 speaks to Treyarch and Activision’s ability to provide fans with quality content during a time when people want to get the most out of their Call of Duty experience.”
