Xbox 360, PS3 and PC title based on horror film series to be released this autumn
Japanese publisher Konami has spoken officially for the first time about its official deal to publish the first video game based on controversial survival horror franchise Saw.
The game takes place inside the corridors of an abandoned insane asylum that has been taken over by Jigsaw, and will include exploration and puzzle solving.
“Konami, partnering with Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures to create SAW was a very organic synergy,” said David Daniels, director of marketing for Konami Digital Entertainment.
“As the leader in the survival horror genre, it only made sense to align with one of cinema's most iconic horror franchises to create an entirely new survival horror experience.”
Lionsgate’s VP for promotions and licensing Aubrey McClure added: “We are always looking for exciting opportunities to extend the SAW experience beyond the theatre. Partnering with Konami, the creators of the survival horror genre, to bring Jigsaw to the video game console was great way to accomplish that.”

The game, which is heading to Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, is due to be released this autumn.
