British publisher confirms fully licensed 2009 and 2010 titles for Wii, PSP, PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360
F1 World Champion Lewis Hamilton will make his video game debut this autumn, MCV can reveal.
Codemasters will launch F1 2009 for PSP and Wii this year, which will feature official tracks, cars, teams and drivers, including Fernando Alonso, Sebastian Vettel – and UK world champion Hamilton.
This will be followed by the high definition F1 2010, which will hit shelves in spring next year for PS3, PC and Xbox 360.
This title boasts an ‘authentic’ F1 experience, and makes use of Codemasters’ EGO Engine technology, which powered the BAFTA award-winning Race Driver: GRID.
“Formula One is the pinnacle of motorsport,” said Codemasters chief executive Rod Cousens. “We are producing a series of games that will deliver the passion, glamour and exhilaration that fans deserve and we know how to do that.

“F1 2009 is the start of something very special for Codemasters and will set the standard for the high definition versions that will follow in spring 2010.
“Our studios are working extremely closely with Formula One Management Limited and the teams to produce the most authentic and thrilling experience possible.
“We are delighted with the level of support and access afforded to us so far, enabling us to get as close to the sport as possible.”
Formula One Management CEO Bernie Ecclestone added: “Codemasters has a great heritage when it comes to racing games and their reputation is second to none. We’re working very closely together on the upcoming titles and are very impressed with what we have seen.”

Put simply...
2010 is too late
Way Too Late
by the time this game comes out the opportunity would have been missed as the new Gran Turismo would have been out at the same time.
F1 on Xbox 360
No doubt once great Codemasters will turn it into infantile arcade trash like Grid, and Dirt.
october
look on game its coming out for 360 in october so i cant wait
Way Too Late
Just to quote AH 'by the time this game comes out the opportunity would have been missed as the new Gran Turismo would have been out at the same time.'
Is Gran Turismo an officially licensed F1 game? No its not...in fact its no where near it.
For F1 fans who have not had an official F1 game to get there teeth into the wait will be worth it and I'm sure we wont be left disappointed.
