Motion-sensing version of GameCube’s Resident Evil makeover is on the way this June
It makes for a confusing headline, but Capcom’s decision to remake on Wii the GameCube remake of the first Resident Evil game is good news for retailers and fans of the series.
Dubbed Resident Evil Archives: Resident Evil, the game will take the same route as Resident Evil 4 in that it will be a straight port of the GameCube code but tweaked to incorporate WiiMote controls. It’s due for release this June, CVG claims.
On GameCube the game was known simply as Resident Evil, and was a faithful reproduction of the PlayStation and Saturn original – albeit with significantly improved graphics which still look good today.
A Wii version of another GameCube outing, Resident Evil Zero, was released in Japan last year.
Whether or not the Wii will now receive the same less ambitious ports of Resident Evil 2, 3 and Code Veronica as was seen on GameCube is yet to be seen.

Good News
Good news, I still stand by the fact that RE 4 on the Wii was and still is one of the best games out for the wii - one of a very small handful that can be retuned to again and again. I hope this follows in similar footsteps.
RE2 remake!
My fave of the series was by far RE2, it had everything, atmosphere, intense battles, police zombies, great puzzles and a great storyline.
If only it was remade in HD, i'd be over the moon! :)

Why did you post annonymously? This isn't the Empire thread...
...
Think I'll wait for the re-re-remake on Wii2.
Re: Your Brains
I already played RE on the GC, I kept it too as it was so good.
The GC versions of 2 and later never really appealed to me so I'd like upgraded versions of those with pointer functionality. Not sure they would do well at full price, but at the £30 that most Wii games seem to settle at i'd certainly get ResiArchives:Resi2.
