Assassin's Creed 2 gets UK TV premiere this weekend

Ubisoft marketing machine starts early for hotly-tipped Q4 release

The release date may be some time off, but that's not stopping Ubisoft's plans to promote Assassin's Creed 2 - the game's first trailer will debut on UK TV this weekend.

Broadcast on Five during movie The Da Vinci Code, the promotional push consists of a teaser and full trailer.

Ubisoft has snapped up a number of promotional slots on the channel already to drive awareness.

"The campaign has been running since last Monday, with teaser spots appearing around all promotional advertising for The Da Vinci Code and appearing around programs such as the Gadget Show, CSI and Reservoir Dogs," Jan Sanghera, brand manager of Assassin Creed 2 at Ubisoft, told MCV.

It seems to be just the first step in a big campaign to make the game a serious hit when it is released later this year.

The first game was released in November 2007 and was arguably the year's best performing new IP, eventually selling in excess of six million units.

Excellent

Definitely looking forward to this.

Not only did I find the first game a very enjoyable experience, but I found it refreshing to see a producer front up all the interviews and know so much about the game and its history. I think Jade Raymond was a credit to Ubisoft and did a lot to get (and keep) people interested in AC.

AC made a lot of very sensible design choices, that people outside of game design simply couldn't understand and as such, they slated it. Yes it had some flawed aspects, but which game doesn't? It certainly didn't deserve the hate it got.

I for one will be more than happy to line the pockets of a development team that deserve the hard-earned rewards.

looking forward to this very much however unfortunatley jade raymond is not part of the production team this time around however her apprentice patrice has stepped up to the position and has already released a narrated trailer of the game and he is also very knowledgable.
pre ordered already :D

Yea it was on during the adverts, as soon as the film paused a AC 2 trailer was on, then angels & demons trailer, then the normal adverts.

oh and LeeC, dont be arrogant, presuming that the average gamer is small minded and disregards any of the games aesthetics, just to complain about where it went wrong. the people who you have heard complaining are probably on the net, thats the place were people complain.
and i wouldnt say it was hated with the sales figures it got, but criticism is good. and probably why AC 2 is gonna be very very good
