UK CHARTS: Six in a row for Wii Fit

Nintendo’s Rhythm Paradise is the only new release to enter the Top 40 as Wii Fit nears all-time Charts record

Looking ahead at the upcoming release schedule it’s becoming hard to guess exactly what is going to usurp Nintendo’s Wii Fit from the top of the ELSPA GfK-ChartTrack All Formats Top 40, with the title now enjoying its sixth successive week at the top.

It's the 15th time Wii Fit has topped the UK listings – if it can manage another three victories it will topple Eidos' Who Wants To Be A Millionaire as the most successful chart topper ever.

There’s no change, either, in the next three games with Activision Blizzard’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine, EA’s FIFA 09 and Nintendo’s Wii Play holding firm.

Sega’s Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games re-enters the Top Ten after a brief holiday, claiming ninth spot. Just behind it is the only Top Ten debutant – Nintendo’s Rhythm Paradise.

The only other new entry this week is Disney Interactive’s Hannah Montana: The Movie in 18th, whilst the lower reaches of the listings see Eidos’ Tomb Raider: Underworld and EA’s Burnout Paradise re-enter in 38th and 40th respectively.

Pah, I believe we did 33 weeks unbroken @ no. 1 on the Gallup Amiga Budget charts with Alien Breed Special Edition in 1992 :-)

Not quite an all-formats block buster, admittedly.

Hi Martyn,

Long time Amiga fan here. Can I just say a big thanks for supporting the Amiga during the 90's. Where others promised much and delivered little Team 17 just got on with job of making some fantastic games. You stuck by whilst others left for the 'dark side'. ;) Alien Breed 2 AGA for the win!!

...I'll get me coat now

Cheers fella. Btw Alien Breed is back, self-published for XBLA and later PSN, this year... it's rather nice, too.
