Tony Hawk reinvention revealed

WATCH THE VIDEO: First images of new plastic skateboard peripheral see the light

We all knew it was coming, but Activision Blizzard’s reinvention of the hugely successful Tony Hawk franchise has finally been revealed – and it’s called Tony Hawk Ride.

As expected, the game will use a brand new skateboard peripheral that can sense tilt and yaw. It also boasts a number of buttons on the side of the unit that players will need to access by mimicking real-life moves.

MCV got its first look at the device this week. To see what you think, check out GameTrailer's video below.

How they gonna make this board appeal and work for the mass market. For all those ppl that love skateboarding but can't do an ollie to save their lives...

I spose it's sensors that pick up the movement of an ollie and from there you press buttons(?) to perform all the other tricks.

Interesting to see!

This is not exiting and tiring just to look at. Guitar hero is accessable but this just defeats the point. Go skate for real!
