Western FFVII release nears on PSN

E3’09: Front Mission and Supreme Commander lead western-orientated E3 showcase

American ratings board the ESRB has granted a certificate to retro PSOne RPG Final Fantasy VII, a sure sign that the cherished game is heading to the US arm of Sony’s PSN.

There’s no word yet on a European release date, but don’t expect the wait to be too long.

Elsewhere in E3 news, publisher Square Enix has revealed its line-up for the LA Expo, with its offering set to be lead by two of its Western-orientated titles.

Gas Powered Games’ Supreme  Commander 2, a mech-based RTS, and Wargaming.net’s new WWII PC RTS Order of War, will showcase Square Enix in its new European and American-friendly guise.

There will still be a number of traditional Square Enix titles on show, however, with the likes of PSP title Dissidia Final Fantasy, FF Crystal Chronicles pair The Crystal Bearers and My Life as a Dark Lord, Double Helix’s Front Mission Evolved, DS exclusive Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, Cavia’s Nier and Final Fantasy IV: The After Years – as well as the almighty Final Fantasy XIII – will all be showing off their wares.
