E3’09: EA Sports MMA expands publisher’s combat sports strategy
Electronic Arts has announced it will release EA Sports MMA on Xbox 360 and PS3 in 2010.
The latest addition to the EA Sports roster was unveiled during the publisher’s E3 press conference. It will deliver an authentic experience of mixed martial arts through a range of well-known fighting styles and top fighters from around the world.
EA Sports president Peter Moore said: “With Fight Night Round 4 set to deliver a knockout with industry-leading visuals and genre-defining gameplay later this month, I couldn’t be more excited to announce the expansion of our combat sports strategy with EA Sports MMA coming in 2010.
“Fans have been begging EA Sports to get into the cage, and EA Sports MMA will put them in control of the sport’s unique combat experience while finally capturing the raw intensity that has made mixed martial arts one of the fastest growing sports in the world. We’re ready for the fight.”

UFC 2009 by Yukes was unreal, can EA really push something new with MMA?
I know they been great with Boxing genres but anything near wrestling in the past for EA has been terrible, maybe not a smart move but this is EA and they seem to do quite well in the sports genre
Too little too late
EA is too late. This is going to be a joke. MMA without UFC endorsement is rediculous. No one is going to buy this garbage. Yukes did a great job with the UFC game I HIGHLY doubt EA can do better. EA has the capital to develop a great MMA game but without the UFC it is left with nothing. There are only a hand full of great fighters that are not in the UFC. A game with 10 Characters is going to really suck. OH and that EA MMA logo is freaking redicuous! Obviously the brand department has no idea what MMA is.
