Former Zavvi MD’s new retail outfit shuts more stores
Head Entertainment in Bluewater will close today, with rumours suggesting the chain is on the verge of collapse.
The Bluewater branch is currently selling off all stock at discounted prices, including Xbox 360’s for under £50.
This is the second Head store to close, with HMV replacing the firm’s outlet in the Manchester Arndale Centre. And rumours are circulating that Head in Sheffield Meadowhall could be the next shop to go.
Head Entertainment was made up of nine former Zavvi stores before the closures, and is run by former Zavvi MD Simon Douglas and partner Les Whitfield.
The chain originally employed 160 staff, and sold mostly old Zavvi stock.

Obvious from the start
Having been into a Head store, I think the eventual closure of all the stores was inevitable from it opening.
99% of the stock is old Zavvi stock, it is simply a clearance store, as stock is sold rather than have 30%.....then 40%......then 50% empty stores they are closing some branches and moving stock to the remaining ones.
As for £560 360s I find that dubious, so were saying that throughout the Zavvi closing sales, and the 3 months or so Head have been trading they haven't sold all the 360 consoles they had!
I'd pay £50 for a receipt showing anyone was able to buy a new 360 for £50!
I got one for £50
Yep, got one a 60GB model for 50 notes. Think they're all still gone now. At least it's expired at Hotukdeals.
Head closing...think not yet!
yes there have been closures but before you write everyone off..get your facts right..reporting without checking the facts that stores are closing is irresponsible and unnecessary - these guys have been through enough this year without you reporting false truths.
WE will close one day...but not yet..
NEW HEAD STORE
IF HEAD WERE ON THE VERGE OF COLLAPSE WHY WOULD THEY BE OPENING A NEW STORE IN LEICESTER ?
