EA: Nintendo isn't dominating the Wii

Boss Riccitiello pledges to improve his company's standing on Nintendo's platform

John Riccitiello, the always interesting boss of EA, has once again expressed his aspirations on Wii this year – and he’s come out in defence of Nintendo in the process.

“For what it's worth, Nintendo isn't trying to dominate the platform – they're trying to have their platform dominate the world,” the exec told Gamasutra. “It's a different objective.

“The number one platform is expanding the market, and growing. Having a lead position there seems like an obvious thing for us to do.”

After openly admitting that EA has underperformed on the platform in the past, Riccitiello now claims that the publisher has reversed the tide and is starting to meet his expectations.
