Ian Curran and others promoted, as publisher creates new divisions in core, casual and online games
THQ has restructured its business into three new units – housing core, casual and online games.
As a result, key exec Ian Curran (pictured) has been promoted to EVP for Global Publishing, and will oversee worldwide revenue for THQ.
Curran’s responsibilities include sales, distribution and channel and territory marketing for countries worldwide.
Under Curran’s leadership, THQ’s international sales have more than doubled and he has overseen the expansion of THQ’s global operations to include 15 direct sales and marketing locations outside of the Americas.
The three new divisions will be looked after separate bosses, resulting in more promotions.

Senior VP of creative development for THQ Danny Bilson moves up the ladder to become EVP of Core Games, while SVP of ValuSoft casual games business and THQ Wireless Doug Clemmer becomes EVP for the Kids, Family and Casual Games division.
SVP of product development in Asia Pacific Steve Dauterman becomes senior VP for Online.
All execs, including Curran, will report into THQ CEO Brian Farrell.
“The new structure specifically aligns our primary business units with our product strategy, enabling each team to focus on planning and execution in highly defined product areas with full profit and loss responsibility,” said Brian Farrell, president and CEO, THQ.
“I look forward to working directly with Danny, Doug, Steve and Ian to execute on our focused strategic plan.”
