Konami to reissue PS2 classics

Zone of the Enders, Metal Gear Solid and Silent Hill to get fresh UK budget releases at retail

Publisher Konami is to reissue a number of its most popular PS2 titles from some of its top games brands in the UK, it has been confirmed.

Games in the surprise retail selection include Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner and Suikoden Tactics. Silent Hill 1, 2 and 3 are apparently on the way at a later date, too.

Each will be priced between £10 and £20.

“They are proper reissues,” a spokesperson confirmed to Eurogamer. “They are re-manufactured. Konami has put them out at budget price because of demand.

“We've manufactured certain amounts depending on the title they're being bought by wholesalers so will likely pop up in independent rather than chain stores.”

Koanmi have been hit way harder than previously thought i feel. Its a little worrying for me, seeing as they are one of my fave developers.
Still i have been after ZOE 2 for a while! Going to stop checking eBay lol

i just bought an old copy of ZOE2 off amazon for £18 cos it's so rare. damn it man, at least it'll be an original and not a reissue but Konami have basically made it pretty worthless.

still, i'm a huge MGS freak (waited for 12hrs in an alley in London overnight to get a signed LE MGS4 sleeve lol and i've got at least one copy of each PS2 game) and i've heard great things about ZOE2. i generally dig anything Kojima (aquired taste i know:) i'd hate to see Konami go t1ts up before i get to play MGS:PW, MGS:Rising and Castlevania and before they release the special edition MGS4 like they have all other MGS titles. in fact i might buy all the reissues just to help keep Konami afloat (one copy of each i mean, not EVERY single disc they produce lol)

what they really need to do now is announce the next ZOE game ahead of sales of ZOE2, that'll save thier holes. and now they've gone Xplat with practically every title they should capitalise there too.

my biggest critisism is the whole Konami ID thing, anybody who played MGO will know what i'm talking about. they gotta stop that shiz right now!

Glad to see this sort of thing starting to happen- I mean, what's the point of backwards compatibilty if the games aren't available?

"Going to stop checking eBay lol"

You can't have looked very hard, given that there are 29 copies of this "rare" game currently for sale on eBay for less than £20. Still...

yeah but the point is it's an old PS2 games selling for more than you can get a lot of PS3 games for, and if they're reissuing it due to demand, then there can't be that many copies available. penis.

you sure you are looking at 2nd runner? or even in the uk retro? i just looked and out of the 21 copies on there only one is under £20 the rest have prices ranging up to £55 i'd say that's a sign of rarity
