AGE RATINGS: Blunder 'an opportunity', says Eidos

'This is a chance to show how responsible we can be,' says life president Livingstone

Eidos has called the new age ratings 'loophole' an "opportunity for the industry to show how responsible it is".

A Government blunder discovered today means retailers caught profiting from selling adult games to kids face no legal penalty.

Eidos life president Ian Livingstone told MCV:

"I think the Government’s blunder gives the industry the opportunity to demonstrate once again that it takes its responsibilities seriously and would not in any way encourage or endorse the selling of inappropriate material to young consumers. We are used to self-regulation and can be trusted as an industry."

Livingstone's comments come after HMV, ELSPA, Codemasters, GAME and ERA all spoke out on the Government blunder.
