Final Fantasy producer says Sony’s decision to price cut the PS3 is great news for upcoming RPG
In truth, had Sony have increased the price of PS3 and Square Enix decided to sell Final Fantasy XIII for £100 it would still have sold millions – but Sony’s PS3 price reduction is still good news for FFXIII, the game’s producer has said.
“Now that the hardware is becoming even more accessible for players, it’s really good timing for us,” Yoshinori Kitase told VG247.
“We’re taking it as really good news, actually, because we’re planning to release Final Fantasy XIII this winter in Japan and next spring for both European and North American territories.”
Whilst Final Fantasy XIII will be released on both Xbox 360 and PS3 simultaneously in the UK, the game remains a PS3 exclusive in Japan.
