£30 price cut for Elite SKU does the business for Microsoft; PS3 sales fall ahead of Slim model launch
The combination of a UK bank holiday and Microsoft’s £30 reduction in the cost of an Xbox 360 Elite lead to a 43 per cent week-on-week sales increase for the next-gen console last week, ChartTrack has told MCV.
Those who were expecting a more significant upturn should, ChartTrack added, note the time of year – the UK shouldn’t expect a serious and consistent increase in weekly hardware sales until October.
Predictably, sales of Sony’s PS3 fell by 20 per cent last week ahead of the launch of the brand new PS3 Slim today. ChartTrack told MCV that it “expects some serious sales numbers” for Sony’s machine come next week.

M$
Oh - another non objective site about Sony - cool !
Should remember that you're another M$ paid one..
Oh and before you use your favourite argument - no I'm not a fanboy, I don't even own PS3. Just like fair play
The idiot above
oh dear, some people really are too stupid for their own good.
This article is just reporting console sales figures which are very relevant at this time due to price cuts. Obviously the 360 sales will rise because the price was cut last week & obvioulsy the PS3 sales will drop because the price was due to be cut the week after (ie. people are waiting to buy one)
This article has nothing to do with the usual fanboy arguments and is just stating figures compiled from retail.
So if your not a fanboy (which I doubt) then you are just an idiot and should cease posting rubbish like the above and embarrasing yourself, child.
Odd response.
What a weird response to this article. i AM a PS3 fanbot and I can't see anyting in the article that looks like a hit at Sony. There was virtually no PS3 stock in the channel last week due to the upcoming slim launch, so like it says, sales were down. exepcting goos PS3 sales this week, we sold 30 today & we are a very small shop!
