Xbox 250GB HDD is bundle only

No standalone SKU planned for new high capacity Xbox 360 hard drive

Retail will not be receiving a standalone version of Microsoft’s new Xbox 360 250GB hard drive, the platform holder’s community head Larry Hyrb has confirmed in a trailer currently available on Xbox Live.

Those wishing to get their hands on the higher capacity model will need to invest in either the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 bundle or the Forza 3 bundle announced this morning.

The Forza pack has been priced at £249.99. Whether the Call of Duty pack will carry a higher RRP, owing both the limited edition console and the higher price of Activision’s game, is yet to be seen.

The current 120GB Xbox 360 hard drive remains available as a standalone purchase for £120 in the UK.

I can't see this staying bundled for long. Maybe MS are waiting for the 120GBs to clear the channel befoe they anounce something.

Of course, they could just be planning a 320GB or bigger as a standalone unit.

they should just lower the prices of all hard drives then offer the larger drives as a simple add on, why not just have 1 console thats upgradable.
problem is ms price on hard drives is way too high, you can get a terrobyte at a good price now. £130 for 120g hd is daylight robbery
its bad enough with sony droppin the price of their console then releasing another sku with play tv etc etc, as it has to be at a higher price, same thing here, too many versions of the same console.

the forza 3 bundle is great value for a new customer and worth the extra 50 quid for larger hard drive and a triple A xbox exclussive.
but still there are too many versions of the same console
must be a manufacturers nightmare

I think that this is a compleate insult, im not just talking about the bundal only here, 250gb who is microsoft convincing...

the ps3 has smaller harddrives shiped with teh console also but the ps3 can be easly upgreded with no risk, it was designed like that.

the fact that sony and MS are pushing downloadabull content with new films and now downloadbul full titlel games, if i were to back up all my 360 games to the console that would fill evan a 250gb hdd easely.

With most modern pcs being give 500gb to 2tbs at around £50 per TB this is simply a joke.
