UK Wii price cut confirmed

Trade price drops back down to previous levels as basic SKU gets two games and MotionPlus

Contrary to reports elsewhere, MCV can confirm that UK retail will see the trade price of Nintendo’s console fall on October 2nd.

However, as had been speculated, the trade price change will only bring Wii down to the same level it was at prior to its controversial trade price hike in March of this year.

There is good news, though. As MCV exclusively confirmed earlier today, UK gamers are set to get a lot more included in Wii’s basic hardware SKU than consumers overseas.

The new Wii hardware bundle, which will launch on October 2nd, will include the console, a WiiMote, one nunchuck controller, a MotionPlus peripheral and copies of both Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort.

It is expected that the pack will retail for £179.99.

Furthermore, MCV can confirm that the price of Wii in Japan is set to fall to YEN 20,000, down from YEN 25,000.
