£284.99 console bundles arriving on October 1st; Blu-ray Movie bundle confirmed
As has been rumoured, SCE UK has confirmed that a brand new 250GB variant of its Slim PS3 is heading to retail with a number of bundles based on some of the console’s most popular software releases.
Arriving on October 1st, the initial offering will include any two of Sony’s Platinum game collection or Sucker Punch’s infamous. This will be joined on October 16th by a bundle including the anticipated Uncharted 2: Amongst Thieves.
As previously reported by MCV, a Blu-ray Movie Pack is also on the way that includes copies of X-Men Origins: Wolverine and The Dark Knight, as well as Sony’s Blu-ray remote control.
Each pack will retail for £284.99, representing a £35 premium over the cost of the standard PS3 Slim SKU.
Sony's move mirrors that of Microsoft, which recently announced a pair of Xbox 360 250GB bundles.

“The 250GB PS3, with its larger storage capacity, will allow owners to take full advantage of the incredible software line-up and the many multimedia functions available on PS3, whether that is storing and viewing your family photographs, listening to your entire music collection in crisp quality, or watching your favourite home videos or TV shows,” a Sony statement reads.
“More storage allows you to download more of the latest games and add-ons from PlayStation Store, as well as movies in both HD and SD from the PlayStation Network video delivery service when it launches later this year, without worrying about running out of space.”

Either you've made an Anne Robinson-esque error with the pricing of the PS3 or you meant to say £35...
not again
so all the people who rushed out to buy the slimline ps3 a few weeks ago are going to be real happy to find they have been done by sony again ! people will just get fed up with this. why didnt they just release a 250gb to start with. i have already had 2 customers come in store wanting to return their ps3 as thay thought they were buying the lastest ps3 and no find their console is no longer the best ( yes i know its sad ) some people just want the best top of the range console and not the lower model

I dont see why anyone would bother trading in their 120 for a 250? You can get a 320gb internal on SCAN for £37.99 including vat! Microsoft has just done the same with the elite, reduced the old one and then a few weeks later anounced the 250gb. We sell around 40 to 50 consoles a week across 360 and PS3 and have had no-one back in wanting to refund for a 250gb...
