Art director reveals that he petitioned Sony to make GOW III a first person shooter
God of War III is one of the most anticipated games on PS3 – but some believe that the game would be even more anticipated had it shunned in hack ‘n’ slash heritage in favour of an FPS adaptation.
That’s the belief of SCEA art director Ken Feldman, who has revealed via Split-Screen that he tried to convince colleagues to turn Kratos’ next-gen outing into an FPS.
“I tried unsuccessfully to convince [director] Stig to make God of War III a first-person shooter,” he explained.
“Kratos could have some truly badass huge weapons that rip gods to shreds. Unfortunately he didn’t see the genius in the idea.”
‘Genius’, eh?

Horrible
Horrible
Kratos in FPS... Mah...
EPIC FAIL ATTEMPT!
A simply horrifying thought to say the least. Sony would have lost so much not only in monies but in fan base if that would have happened. At least Stig had his head on right. The sales and popularity of the first two games should be testimony enough that the formula works. If it ain't broke.....don't fix it.
