Nintendo’s American boss ponders why consumers would opt for Sony’s latest handheld iteration
In a not so thinly veiled attack on its competitor, Nintendo America boss Reggie Fils-Aime has stated that anyone considering buying a PSPgo may want to have a long think about what the product offers over its predecessor.
“The device may have a fundamental concept problem in terms of 'who's it for' and 'what's the benefit?,” Reggie told The Washington Post.
“I have the utmost respect for all our competitors but it's interesting to try and answer the consumer question of 'what's in it for me' in that product.”
In the same interview, Reggie adds that DS title are still able to command a premium price point in the face of cheaper iPhone outings as Nintendo’s machine still offers experiences not possible on the iPhone. CasualGaming.biz has the full story on that one.

Huh?
Couldn't the same be said about the DSi?
Phil, your spot on.
couldnt have said it better myself phil.
I think its about the price
Well i think it kinda confuses the buyer of psp go. Since psp go is selling for 250$ and a playstation 3 for 300$ .. So why buy a old device, okay its smaller than its predecessor. But nothing else worth mentioning. For a almost the same price as a full blown home entertainment system?
DSi still adds more features than to its predecessor, and still keeps a very low and nice price.
PSPgo is nice if you have extra mulah
PSPgo would be nice to have if you have the extra money.
People buy Ipods for $300-$400. So i guess for me the choice between ipods, and ds's would be the PSPgo. It's sleeker, has blu tooth, you can watch movies, and play games without a big glare because the screen is made with that in mind. also the blu tooth capability lets you play the psp games with a ps3 controller if you don't like the go's controls. also you don't have to carry games around with you. VERY nice touch i might add. =)
