Popular online gathering place offers members the chance to invest in the future of the community
One of the most established video games forums on the internet is in the process of asking its members to invest in it in an effort to both safeguard its future and build toward possible expansion.
rllmuk, which was formed out of the ashes of the original Edge forum in the early part of this decade, is one of the largest and most varied video games forums around and boasts consumers and industry professionals amongst its members.
In an email currently being sent out to members, administrator Graham_S explains: “The owner of rllmukforum, com has decided that he'd like to step down from running the forum, and plans to switch the current server off at the end of November. We are forming a non-profit co-operative group, called the Rllmuk Supporters' Club, to own and run the forum from now on.”
It is understood that rllmuk has already raised in the region of £2,700 and hopes to raise another £2,000 to secure its future.

Preorder cancelled.
Rllmuk is like a pint, only better.
It's safe
It's OK. Even if we fail to raise the total, we can convert all the bluster and hot air out of Smitty's insatiable appetite for e-drama as a renewable energy source and run the servers off that

Making money
We could make a fortune selling copies of the Elmo's Dad Photobook, you know.

I don't do things via committee...
Also, now that the present owner is stepping down, will there be a change of name? Who runs the show, or will "Mr R" be staying on in some sort of advisory role?
Finally, what's the big deal about Rllmukforum? The edge forums are back, so why can't the marauding mass just migrate back (lock a flock of birds, or is that a flock of sheep?!? I digress)?
rllmuk
Sorry, but the rllmuk forums are consisted of a bunch of bullies and elitist assholes who attack any new person on the site, let alone outsiders.
They're also spamming the hell out of my inbox with e-begging letters. I've had TWELVE so far.
So I'll be glad to see the back of them.
Karma
I've been getting these emails for a few days as well. Looks like you people are busy acting like rats fleeing a sinking ship, and spamming the entire internet. Stop it. It's pathetic.
Why would anyone who has ever failed your sad pathetic popularity contests, and been banned as a consequence, want to help save you and your miserable forum now?
The Irony is delicious
Totally agree, these douchebags banned me a few years ago as I didn't fit into their "precious clique", not that I ever actually did anything TO ban me.
Yet they have the fricking AUDACITY to spam me five times with ebegging emails, asking to forward them £50 to save their precious forum.
You didn't want me when you had money and decided to treat me like dirt, now you're in the death spiral, you want to be best buddies with me??? Go to Hell.
Karma's a bitch, ain't it?
Maybe you can brown-nose your messiah Rab Florence for the dough, rlllmuk are always good at that.
Oh ho ho ho
To those moaning about getting billions of emails: it was a problem with a mail server or something. They're not doing it on purpose.
Rab Florence
Holly, we bought him the Xbox because he won the bet (with style, at that). It would've been pathetic for us to do otherwise.
You'd think you would've gotten over the ban by now. Or removed your email from your profile. Are you holding onto the hope that we might, some day, let you back?
