UPDATED: October 27th launch for IPTV service on Xbox 360; Prices and channels to follow
Microsoft’s Xbox community manager for Europe Graeme Boyd, otherwise known as AceyBongos, has revealed that Sky’s long-awaited Xbox 360 functionality will go live on October 27th.
In a Tweet just a few moments ago, Boyd stated: “October 27 – that’s the date when you’ll be able to watch TV from Sky on your Xbox 360. Channel line-up and pricing to come at launch.”
It is expected that only existing Sky subscribers will be able to access the service, though the chance remains that non-Sky customers will be able to join in the fun for a fee.
UPDATE: Wonderwallweb claims to have details of a retail bundle heading to shelves on October 27th (pictured). It contains one month's access to the Sky 360 player, three month's subscription to Xbox Live and a media remote – but no Xbox 360 console.

Price
It is a good feature to support but if the ondemand on sky's website is anything to go by it will probably be more cost effective to buy a sky subscrition than use this service without one. So not sure how usful it would be. On the other hand if it is priced sensibly then bring it on!
microsoft are cheap
What is the point of exsisting sky users getting sky on there xbox when they have it on there TV. I dont realy know why we spend £40 a year for xbox live when they dont give us much
This isn't quite right
Actually, Sky on 360 won't be just for exsiting Sky subscribers, as already confirmed by Microsoft. The service will be available to those who are subscribers, but you may also use the service as pay-per-view for programmes you wish to watch. Of course, you can also subscribe to the service just on 360 too.
Free Multiroom??
I suspect this is designed for people who want multi-room or some sort of Sky+. If you have a 2 bed house, and sky down stairs, and your 360 upstairs, this is ideal... if its free.
Even so, if a one off payment of about £20 is marked up, then again, teenagers with 360's in their bedroom would benefit.
Sky
I'd love to do PPV Sky on my 360. Being a non-sub of Sky, I'd occasionally like to watch the footie at home! :)
Sky
I'd rather have the BBC iPlayer on the Xbox personally.
iPlayer
Yeah iPlayer on the xbox would be amazing - why on earth haven't they pushed ahead with it beats me (PS3 has it apparently!)
I wonder...
If in the future you'll be able to record TV show's from Sky like PlayTV on the PS3? That would be a great feature.
@Stuart Your right the PS3 does have the iPlayer, it's nothing special to be honest but it does work well.
iPlayer on PS3
Yeah, the PS3 has bbc i player on it.
Its useful as most people nowadays have bigger tv's than laptops or desktop monitors. So you dont have to squint.
Very good quality for flash over a large screen
PS3 iPlayer
Yeah, it's not really an app, it's a link that directs you through to the browser, although it loads into what looks like a full screen app.
It works quite well, even on my rubbish wireless, quality on the 32" scren isn't the best, but it's workable.
BBC?
I'd rather have Sky.
SKy
its gonna be awsome dunno what every one is complaining about??
Xbox
I ant even got the update yet :'(
sky and xbox
Apparently Sky was on 2 day on the xbox and then later on it was took off due to some technical difficulties they had with it, so i was just wondering if anybody had an idea when they are going to upload it again? thanks.
Sky
