
Young writer takes home new talent prize
Official Xbox Magazine's Mike Channel was named the UK games media's rising star at last night's Games Media Awards.
Channel beat Neon Kelly (Videogamer), Samuel Roberts (360), Mattew pellett (Xbox World 360), Chiris McMahon (Games TM) and Graham Smith (PC Gamer) to win the prize.
Channel has been at OXM as reviews editor for a year.
The Games Media Awards were held at Jongleurs, Camden, and hosted hundreds of the UK's games media and marketing and PR execs.
Key sponsors were Bethesda's WET, Activision's DJ Hero, Electronic Arts, Formula One 2009 from Codemasters, IL-2 Stumovik from 505 Games, Namco Bandai, New Super Mario Bros Wii from Nintendo, Saw from Konami, Scribblenauts from Warner Bros., Sega, Ubisoft, and Xbox 360.
