Sales of recently released sequel over 600 per cent stronger than limp first outing
Whilst Sony’s Uncharted series has been a firm favourite in the West since its arrival in late 2007, it’s reception in Japan has been less enthusiastic – a problem that the sequel seems to have very ably addressed.
Gamezine reports that in its first day on sale in Japan, the original Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune sold just 7,300 copies.
First day figures for its sequel, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, hit 46,000 copies – not a huge number in itself but a massive 630 per cent higher than its predecessor.
We’ll find out on Monday whether Naughty Dog’s title has been successful in its efforts to topple FIFA 10 from the top of the UK charts this weekend.
