Technical issues cause temporary suspension of new IPTV service

Just hours after the service debuted on Xbox Live yesterday, Microsoft has been forced to remove the much-hyped Sky Player from Xbox Live due to technical problems.

However, the platform holder hopes to reinstate the service at some point today.

“The Sky Player on Xbox 360 service did successfully launch early yesterday morning, it has subsequently been suspended due to an unforeseen technical issue,” a statement explained.

“With so much excitement and interest in the service, we’d much prefer to ensure that our customers enjoy the highest possible quality of service.

“We would like to take this opportunity to apologize to our customers who have attempted to access the service today. Sky Player engineers are hard at work to resolve the problem – we expect to have the full service available today.”

I wonder what the technical issue was. Maybe people were able to view Sky player without paying for content? Does anyone know?

I think Sky and Microsoft under-estimated how many people would actually want to try the service!!

this is just another example of microsoft rushing a product out before properly testing it to just so they can have a new innovation before sony. sony have never rushed a product out and have for as long as i can remember and everytime they have tried to create a new innovation in gaming the have always tried to create something truly ground breaking n it is for this reason that sony will always have a better understanding of gaming than microsoft
