
Record-breaking system continues to grow – as worldwide Wii installed base hits 56 million
Nintendo has this morning revealed that its DS console has topped 113 milion sales worldwide, as part of its six-monthly fiscal results.
11.7m DS units were sold in the six month period to September 30th, taking the console’s global installed base to 113.48m worldwide. 13.7m were sold in the previous comparable period in 2008.
Meanwhile, life-to-date Wii sales have now hit 56.14 million – with 5.75 sold in the six month period.
Over 76 million software units for the system were sold in the same period. Total Wii software sales now stand at 429.23 million.
