Several Rare studios canned as attention shifts to Project Natal, according to sources
Consumer games site CVG is reporting that Microsoft has pulled the plug on a number of games in development at Rare – including a sequel to Xbox 360 launch title Kameo.
The portal claims that Rare earlier this year underwent “a company-wide restructure” in an effort to focus its resources on Project Natal orientated development.
“More than one” traditional franchise sequels were culled, apparently, though Kameo 2 is the only named title.
Kameo was a solid enough action RPG effort that gained a lukewarm critical reception upon its release, though over time the general attitude toward it has become less favourable.
