Twelve Interactive and OG International reach agreement over franchise rights

A dispute between Italian studio Twelve Interactive and UK firm OG International concerning the rights to the CID Dummy franchise has reportedly been resolved, according to Edge.

The two set upon one another following the collapse of UK publisher Oxygen, from whom OGI – which is headed by former Oxygen boss Jim Scott – claimed to have obtained the rights to the license.

Twelve Interactive contested the claims, however, and the pair have now struck a deal that sees the Italian developer retain the IP rights but OGI gain the worldwide distribution rights for Wii, PSP, PS2 and PC.

Rights to the DS and digital PC versions of the game are also owned by Twelve.

“I am pleased to have cleared this matter up,” OGI boss Jim Scott stated. “Contrary to reports I didn't believe we had acted improperly in any case but there was a genuine disagreement and it has been settled.

“I believed at the time that Oxygen did not and does not owe Twelve any money and am keen to set the record straight and move on.”

Twelve Studios’ founder Giuseppe Crugliano added: “We had a dispute with Oxygen which both sides were trying to resolve before Oxygen went into administration, whilst we believed the contract wasn’t settled in full, Oxygen believed they had fulfilled their obligations.

“Together we have been able to reach an amicable compromise. It is inevitable that in putting in place a rescue package for the business of Oxygen issues such as this arise but I am glad we have now finally resolved it with OG and can move forward with maximising the sales of the game.”
