UPDATE: Nintendo’s big Christmas casual title steps up to the top spot
In the most competitive release week of the year so far, Nintendo’s Wii Fit Plus has seized the number one position, according to this morning’s weekly games charts.
The fitness title fended off competition from 41 different games and franchises, such as Dragon Age: Origins, Ghostbusters, Band Hero, Ratchet & Clank and SingStar: Take That.
The full UK charts are today released in MCV's Retail Biz – which also includes Metacritic ratings, price check and more. The mail-out is available to read online and download.
Thanks to a three per cent sales boost, Wii Fit Plus triumphs over Sega’s Football Manager, which pipped it to the post when both titles debuted last week. The footy title suffers a 53 per cent drop in sales, according to ChartTrack, pushing it down from No.1 to No.4.
Elsewhere in the chart, a 13 per cent drop in sales doesn’t stop FIFA 10 from moving up to second place, while a 63 per cent rise in sales sees Wii Sports Resort rocket up to third. Dragon Age: Origins takes fifth place as the only new entry to make it into the Top 10
The Top 10 is as follows
1. Wii Fit Plus
2. FIFA 10
3. Wii Sports Resort
4. Football Manager 2010
5. Dragon Age: Origins
6. Forza Motorsport 3
7. Mario & Sonic At The Olympic Winter Games
8. Grand Theft Auto: Episodes From Liberty City
9. Pro Evolution Soccer 2010
10. Tekken 6
