Creator Eiji Aonuma says development of new Legend Of Zelda game is 'well underway'
The mastermind behind Nintendo's recent Zelda games has revealed that development on the new Wii version of the series is “well underway” – and that he is hopeful of being able to show the game off at E3 next year.
Speaking in the January issue of Official Nintendo Magazine, Eiji Aonuma said that the firm was already in the process of creating “scenarios, dungeon-making and so on”.
He added that the game was already working with MotionPlus and that his team had “already got a very solid response” from the technology.
He said: “You may be under the impression that we are still only in the early stages of development – [but] in fact we are well into the making of the game…
"Our team has been working on making the building blocks regarding the action – the scenarios, dungeon-making and so on. We are well underway.”
He added: “I hope that we can show you something at the E3 show next year and it is something we are hopeful will be surprising.”

Zelda at E3 2010
While this all sounds really nice, I find “... and it is something we are hopeful will be surprising” a bit eerie considering Nintendo has proclaimed The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks a title they want to work with towards the casual gamers. Dealing with trains, a rather cute visual design and not too hard puzzles and challenges, Link's most recent escapades have made some purists a bit uncomfortable. Though rich in quality and detail, the two most recent additions in The Legend of Zelda series have not made a great impact, so to speak.
But all this speculation could be unmeaning, Nintendo could potentially have something very revolutionary for the series. After all, just one little image of some concept art has been released so far, and that means at least to me they're cooking up some really good stuff. I guess I have to get hold of some E3 tickets to find out.

Spirt Tracks is by no means easy or childish. The spirt tower is extremely hard and the bosses are preety tough too. To me it is one of the greatest zelda games i have played because it is so original. If zelda wii turns out anything like spirt tracks it will be a phenominal game.
