GameStreamer expands into Europe

Digital distribution specialist offering white label stores on the continent

Digital distribution specialist GameStreamer is to launch its services in Europe, after opening a data centre in the UK.

The firm will now offer its white label game stores to European clients.

Its first Europe-based partner is VGChartz.com, which recently opened its own downloadable store.

GameStreamer’s new centre is hosted by Savvis in London.

“Video games are now the fastest growing segment of the entertainment market surpassing US movie box office revenues in 2008,” explained GameStreamer co-founder and CEO Timothy Roberts.

“Consumers simply enjoy playing video games so bringing games content to websites like VGChartz
can help them convert their traffic to revenue.

“As high speed bandwidth connects more consumers and more devices to the internet, digital distribution of games will continue to grow in demand. Our relationship with Savvis gives us the Tier-1 network infrastructure we can depend on to enable our technology to deliver the best experience."

It takes long term vision to do things like this. Technology is changing so fast and it's great to see that there are companies that see potential and are willing to lead the way! The great Wayne Gretsky said he was not the best hockey player, but he never skated to where the puck was, he skated to where it was going to be! Great stuff!

Not sure who pissed in morpheus pint but a better alternative to steam and free game market data is pretty cool IMO. gamestreamer are a startup mate and just now launching in Europe according to this article so how can you say they suck? Your probably from steam and know they are going to replace you and your stupid steam client you make me use.

Thanks for link mike, pretty cool actually. The car at the end is awesome! I want this now!

Will have to keep an eye on gamestreamer, looks like they have some very cool tech

Sat with Timothy at the very back table of last years MCV Awards and was really impressed by the concept and his passion for it!

Glad to see it's hit our shores.

There need to be some better alternatives to Steam out there. Anything that brings more options for Digital Dist to gamers and more competition to Steam is a good thing.

GameStreamer system sounds like an open customizable digital game store system. Steam protectionism will kill himself, someone is scared here... Morpheus?

Also, VGChartz business is games, makes sense that they launch a game store.

Good luck with the right bet!

VGChartz is well respected in gaming industry. GameStreamer must have a top quality solution if VG Chartz has selected them. I'm all for increased competition, especially if it's a better product!
