The UK is Xbox 360 land, who doesn't already know that? Wait 'till you see worldwide sales, Final Fantasy XIII on PlayStation 3 will double Final Fantasy XIII on Xbox 360.

When posting a story we have to ask ourselves two things.

1) Is it relevant?
2) Is it something that our readers will be interested in?

Of course, anyone can see that this particular release will attract attention from a specific part of MCV's userbase. But is it my place to ignore these users completely? You could argue that, and it's a balancing act I'm always having to make.

I would not be at all surprised to see FFXIII on 360 outsell the PS3 version in the UK, what with a million more players there or whatever. But myvouchercode doesn't deserve your audience.

square themselves stated the definative version is the ps3 version, why would you buy a game on 3 discs, that runs at 575p with missing content, i own all consoles and its obvious which version will sell more and be the best experience, all sites i checked have the ps3 version pre selling above the 360 version.there are certain multiplat games i would buy on 360, but this isnt one of them

Final Fantasy XIII will destroy the Xbox 360 version by a huge massive numbers. Xbox 360 is all about shooters and also FF is basically only a PlayStation series no Xbox fans just PlayStation.

Myvouchercodes seeing twice as much interest for the XBox 360 version of FFXIII means twice as many Xbox 360 users are pikeys, as it is a pikey site.

UK isnt Xbox land, the whole of europe is PS3, its only america thats Xbox.. PS ps3 will have a better resolution then Xbox, ITS A Fact research it.

Not the sort of news piece I'd expect somethings like MCV to publish. Maybe for a site like CVG but not here. Like as already been stated, some random websites estimate based on it's own searches isn't exactly a good source of material, especially when they've been so wrong before. Surely a great way to prove that the site's search feature isn't an accurate representation of facts and not worth MCVs time to print up.

Final Fantasy must be the most over-rated crap to ever have come out of Japan. And let's not forget that Japan also produced Poke-your-mom and Yu-Gi-Oh-Good-God.

Who cares if it sells more on one or the other or looks better on one console or another? It looks about as interesting as Fatal Labrynth on the MegaDrive.

Meanwhile amazon.com's trends are well known to be an excellent barometer of sales figures, especially for video games. And according to them, PS3 is ALREADY outselling 360. Man...internet journalism is just getting worse and worse.

I seriously doubt it will outsell the PS3 version, especially not 2:1. It will either be the same, or the PS3 version will outsell. The PS3 version has already been proven to be the better version.

Hmm leeeemondo your obviously a very closed minded person if your basing your dislike of the series on two childrens anime from the same country, its like me basing my opinions of Britain on X factor and Eastenders, just because they originate from the same place doesn't mean they have influence on everything released in that country. And you ask who cares what console it sells on, on an industry website, im sure both Sony and Microsoft care big time along with indies and anyone who may be selling the game, the result of this provides alot of information on the demographics of each console and will give an indication as to whether Sonys brand power remains strong or whether it may be waning after all these years.

I dont get why any FF hardcore fan or fan in general will buy a 360 for this game, or get this game for 360, as the 360 version is very inferior, and not the true version of the game. Also, in the future, any one who wants every other Final Fantasy will need a PS3, so why get 360? I don't know, where FF13 versus is PS3 exclusive still, and FF 14 is timed exclusive for the PS3 on the console side of games, for this year. So, anyone who like final fantasy should get a PS3 for it, or, buy the game for PS3 to therefore just hold the collection, of the definitive versions, and exclusive titles.

Obviously, there are more searches from xbox owners than PS3 owners because PS3 owners always knew the FFXIII is being released for said console!!!

I wasn't comparing Final Fantasy to Pokemon or Yu-Gi-Oh, I was merely pointing out that Final Fantasy is the most over-rated product to come out of Japan. And Japan's exports also include the god-awful Pokemon series and Yu-Gi-Oh series.

I do take your point mon the manufacturers looking at which console it sells well on - my original comment was more concerning the dumb-ass fan-boys who constantly claim that the PS3 has the "true" version, or that the 360 "has Halo". I just get sick and tired of the fan-boy mentality. Why can't everyone just play games and enjoy?

I own both consoles but I will be buying the Xbox 360 version for three reasons,

1. Graphics are not an issue on a standard definition 22 inch television.

2. I want achievements as in RPGs they add longevity even after all of the side quests and main quests are completed.

3. I have absolutely no problem disk changing; it kind of adds that psychological worth as you get more for your money, even though you don't.

However if I did own a HD television I would be buying the PS3 version in an instant, I think it all comes down to how much you care about the little details and whether you are too lazy to change a disk.

Ahh Leemondo that would be a perfect world, unfortunately based on the charts I think Peppa Pig proved we don't live in a perfect world but we can dream. Also I see where your coming from, but considering both yu-gi-oh and pokemon are children's programs they aren't that bad, at least they try and teach a lesson even if it is plainly obvious.

I call BS at this prediction. After the faked 360 Screenshots fiasco, and now the fact that the PS3 will run at 720p HD, while the 360 will run at 576p SD, of course there are searches for it. People want answers. They know the PS3 version is solid already (it's out in Japan), so they're searching for news about the 360 version, possibly to see how that pans out and choose?

Anyways, who cares which sells more, the PS3 version is graphically superior, comes on a single Blu-ray (instead of 3 DVDs) and is higher resolution. Once the reviews of the 360 version come in, we'll see the comparisons that Square isn't letting us do right now by holding the 360 version close to their chest. Because they know it's not as good as the undeniably more powerful processors in the PS3, which they are on record as saying "FFXIII will utilize near 100% of the PS3's processing capabilities". It's no secret the PS3 is harder to code for, but has better hardware. If they say it's using near 100% of the PS3, of course it has to be knocked down a bit for 360.

Obviously the Xbox standard is outselling the PS3 one in large numbers, but this is just from our sales and of course it does not mean that PS3 is inferior. My suspicion is that it simply comes down to the fact that too many Xbox-only console owners have been wanting to try this game on their console as it is a first time release on Xbox

Um, biased 360 guys? As of now, the monthly release of the PS3 and X-Box 360 versions of the game have been released, and the PS3 version has sold over DOUBLE the number of units the 360 version has. I was not surprised but apparently local stores were. In addition, the "UK 360-land" so-called, has a 54% to 45% something standard in favor of the PS3 version. I don't know what these "economists" were thinking. The multi-platform fan-dumb phenomenon has been a major of contention for console fans, and I think that Square should consider doing a PS3-only release in the future.
