Race Driver: GRID Reloaded to come with code to access extra content
Codemasters is to become the latest publisher to reward those who buy their games brand new with digital content not available to pre-owned buyers.
This will begin with Race Driver: GRID Reloaded, due for release on Thursday, March 11th for PS3.
The new SKU will include a copy of the original game plus codes to download the two DLC packs: 8-Ball and Prestige.
The PS3 edition is due to retail at £24.99, with a 360 version to follow at a later date.
The 8-Ball pack is already available to download over PSN and Xbox Live and includes two new multiplayer events and eight new cars.
The Prestige Pack is new, and will also be made available through PSN on March 11th for £7.99. The DLC includes the Australian Bathurst circuit and ten new cars, such as the Ferrari F430.
The Brit-based publisher has announced that two compilation packs will also launch on Thursday, March 11th. The first set is priced at £29.99 for Xbox 360 and includes the original Colin McCrae: Dirt and Race Driver: GRID.
The second set is a triple compilation pack for PC, and features GRID, Dirt, and last year’s release, Fuel. The PC bundle is priced at £19.99.
“GRID won multiple awards at launch and since its May 2008 launch has remained a defining racing game,” said Codemasters brand manager Edward Newby-Robson.
“We’re delighted to add extra value and introduce brand new content on its Platinum release that reinvigorates the title and adds new cars and a new track to the game for the first time.”
The decision follows similar moves in recent weeks by both Sony and EA.

Long time coming...
Good to see you writing for the gaming industry Mr Dring. Nice article. By the way, it's Craig - or Mr Reynolds, as you like to address me...
:)
What about GRiD DLC for PC?
Well the 3-game PC bundle is OK (altho I don't have any interest in Dirt or Fuel and already own GRiD), BUT why hasn't CodeMasters announced the 8-Ball and Prestige Pack DLC for PC???
My PC runs circles around any console, and I + jillions of PC players WANT equal DLC treatment. C'mon Codies, do the RIGHT THING!
