Red Dead Redemption wowing pundits

The latest free-roaming epic to emerge from the house of Grand Theft Auto has received a rapturous reception from the gaming press and looks to be on target to become one of the highest reviewed titles of all time.

Red Dead Redemption is currently averaging 95 per cent on Metacritic. It has also received top marks from an impressive 13 media outlets including VideoGamer, The Telegraph, 1UP, GameSpy and GamePro.

The score places it amongst the higher echelons of the all-time greats alongside the likes of Halo 2, The Legend of Zelda: The Twilight Princess and Majora’s Mask, Winning Eleven 6, Gran Turismo 3 and the Grand Theft Auto pair San Andreas and Vice City.

The game is odds-on to be crowned UK number one on Monday – despite experiencing a few problems on the High Street.
