Nordic Games to publish We Sing Robbie Williams, featuring 25 tracks from UK pop star
Last week he re-joined Take That and now Robbie Williams will star in his own video game.
The pop sensation is on the comeback trail. He has recorded a new album with Take That, and will tour with the band in the summer.
He is even set to launch a new compilation this autumn: In And Out Of Consciousness: The Greatest Hits 1990-2010, celebrating Robbie’s 20 years in the music business.
And to accompany the new album, publisher Nordic Games will release We Sing Robbie Williams, a karaoke title for Wii that features 25 of his biggest hits. Both the game and the Greatest Hits compilation are scheduled for release in October.
Rafael McDonnell, SVP for Brand Partnerships, Licensing & Synchronisation at EMI Music, said: “EMI is at the forefront of working with the games industry and recorded music, with artists such as Robbie embracing this important format.
“We are really proud to offer the opportunity for all of Robbie’s fans to get the chance to sing along to their favourite hits with this new game.”
Nordic Games’ sales and marketing director Nik Blower added: “Robbie’s fanbase covers practically every age group, and both genders – a massive percentage of the population will want to play this game. It’s a huge deal for Nordic Games.”
Tracks already announced for the game include Angels, Let Me Entertain You, Rock DJ, Old Before I Die and She’s the One.
Williams has sold 11m singles and 57m albums. He has had seven UK No.1 albums, making him the biggest selling solo artist in the UK.
