Gamescom 2010 draws record numbers

This year’s Gamescom has pulled in a record amount of exhibitors with 505 companies attending at the Koelnmesse in Germany.

Publishers, developers, distributors, accessories firms and more travelled from 33 different countries to make the show. Of these companies 275 are based in Germany while more than 50 made the trip from Gamescom’s official partner country Canada.

A number of product announcements have already been made at day one and day two of Gamescom 2010, with the festival opening its doors to the public today.

2010 also marks the first time an official partner country has been selected for Gamescom, with Canada given its own pavilion at the show.

Last year the event in Cologne attracted almost 250,000 visitors and over 450 exhibitors from 31 countries.
