MS launches Kinect competition

Microsoft has kicked off a nationwide competition allowing three winners to bring Kinect to their town or village.

The ‘Kinect Comes To You’ competition will launch later this month on the Xbox 360 Kinect Facebook page. Participants can submit entries by writing on the page with their reasons why Kinect should come to their local area, school, road or back garden.

The judging panel consists of singer and model Sophie Ellis Bextor, Microsoft UK’s director of Xbox and entertainment Stephen McGill and Rare Studios’ executive producer of technology and communications Nick Burton.

Microsoft also announced a number of new dates for its UK Kinect Tour, which has already allowed consumers at Alton Towers, London Zoo and more to try the device and watch their experiences back at www.kinect.me.

The new dates are:

– Ireland National Ploughing Championships – September 20th to 26th
– Liverpool – September 25th

– Bristol – October 16th
– Cardiff – October 17th
– Edinburgh – October 30th
