GT5 midnight openings announced

High Street stores are holding special midnight openings for Sony’s long-awaited Gran Turismo 5 tonight.

Around 125 GAME shops will open shortly before midnight across the UK as will 38 Gamestation stores. The latter is offering one lucky buyer per store the chance to buy the GT5 Signature Edition for the price of the standard game.

The special edition retails for 129.99 and comes with a Mercedes SLS AMG model car, USB key, book, strategy guide, in-game vehicles and more. In comparison, the standard SKU has an RRP of 49.99.

Gran Turismo 5 is the latest long-awaited instalment of Sony’s popular racing game. It’s the latest game to benefit from midnight openings following the release of top-sellers Halo: Reach, Call of Duty: Black Ops and Xbox 360 Kinect.
