Microsoft launches Xbox Live Rewards

Users of Xbox Live are now able to register for the Xbox Live Rewards program, a new scheme that offers to dish out real Microsoft Points for free.

It’s open to any Gold Members of the service who are registered in either the UK or US. Points will be awarded for things such as renewing Gold membership, subscribing to Sky or leaving feedback.

Silver members will have the chance to earn some by via things such as surveys or taking part in certain promotions.

Once earned points will be added to a user’s account and can be spent in exactly the same was as MSP purchased by normal means. Points will not be deposited into accounts until the tally reaches 100.

Reward points will expire over time, with the current batching being good until June 30th 2012.
